Privacy policy

This statement explains which personal data IdealPC Sàrl processes when you visit idealpc.ch, contact us, create an account, buy an extension or use our update services. It is drawn up in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the European regulation (GDPR) applies, you also have the rights it provides.

2. Data we process

a) Visiting the site

The server automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time, pages viewed, browser and operating system, referring site. They are used to run the site, keep it secure and diagnose errors.

b) Contact

When you write to us (form, e-mail, phone), we process your name, your e-mail address, your phone number if you give it and the content of your message, in order to reply.

c) Customer account and orders

For an order, we process your first and last name, billing address, e-mail address, phone number, login details (encrypted password), products ordered, amounts, dates and order status.

d) Payment

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe: we never have access to them. We only receive the payment confirmation and limited information (amount, status, card type).

e) Licences and updates

Each purchase is linked to a licence key associated with your e-mail address. When your Joomla site checks for or downloads an update, we record the key used, the extension and version concerned, the site address or the server’s IP address, and the date. These data are used to check the validity of the licence, deliver updates and prevent abuse.

f) Visitor statistics

Only with your consent, we use Google Analytics to measure the site’s audience in aggregate form. Without your consent, no statistics cookie is set.

3. Purposes

  • concluding and performing the sales contract (order, delivery, licence, updates, support);
  • keeping accounts and meeting our legal obligations;
  • answering your requests;
  • ensuring the security and proper operation of the site and the licence server;
  • improving the site, based on your consent for statistics.

We do not sell your data and do not use them for targeted advertising.

4. Recipients and service providers

We use service providers who process data on our behalf, to the extent necessary:

  • Website hosting: a professional hosting provider, which stores the site and its database;
  • Payment: Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (Ireland) and Stripe, Inc. (United States);
  • Statistics, with your consent: Google Ireland Ltd. (Ireland) and Google LLC (United States);
  • E-mail: our professional e-mail provider;
  • Maps: if a map is displayed, your browser connects to OpenStreetMap servers.

Data may also be disclosed to authorities where required by law.

5. Disclosure abroad

Some providers process data in the European Union or in the United States. The EU is recognised by the Swiss Federal Council as providing adequate protection. For the United States, transfers are based on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

6. Retention

  • orders, invoices and accounting records: 10 years, in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations;
  • customer account and licence key: as long as the account exists or the licence is used, then according to accounting periods;
  • licence server log: 12 months;
  • contact messages: as long as needed to handle the request, then at most 2 years;
  • technical server logs: a few weeks.

7. Security

The site is only accessible over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the administration is restricted and protected, extension files can only be downloaded with a valid key, and regular backups are made.

8. Your rights

You can at any time request access to your data, their correction or deletion, object to processing, withdraw your consent or obtain your data in a common format. Data that the law requires us to keep (accounting) cannot be deleted before the end of the legal period.

9. Cookies

The site uses cookies needed for it to work (session, cart, account login, remembering your cookie choice). Statistics cookies (Google Analytics, for example _ga) are only set after your consent in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via the Cookies link at the bottom of the page, or delete cookies in your browser.

10. Changes

We may adapt this statement, in particular if the site or the law changes. The version published on this page is authoritative.
